Video Game Tips

Hello Gamers!
Need help playing video games? Need some tips while you're at it? Well we got you covered! Below are video game tips to help you improve as a gamer.

New Super Mario Bros. Tips:

Mega Power Up! The Mega Mushroom power-up turns Mario into Mega Mario- a giant who destroys everything in his path. Progress quickly through the level by stomping your way through as many foes and obstacles as possible.

Fill the Meter! Mega Mario is invulnerable, but he only lasts for a short time. Destroy pipes and block to build up the meter at the top of the screen. Fill up the meter to earn free 1Ups when Mega Mario wears off.

Mega Mario busts his way through any obstacle in his path! As long as he lasts, nothing can hurt you, so don't waste time. Forge ahead!

Unlockables! Once you've finished the game, there's a lot of great stuff that you can unlock for fun replay!

Challenge Mode- After beating the game, go to the world map and enter: Start, L, R, L, R, X, X, Y, Y. This unlocks the Challenge Mode.

Unlimited Toad House Items- By beating all of the regular levels plus all of the lettered bonus levels, you'll unlock as many Toad House items as you want. Just make sure to save after beating the game- this is what triggers unlock.

New Backround- Once you've made it through all of the levels and collected every star coin, you can unlock a new backround for your game. It will cost you 20 star coins.

Quick Change-- Play As Luigi! You can unlock Luigi and play as him instead of Mario by holding L + R and pressing A on the file you want to play. You will now appear in the game as Luigi! The best part is that you can become Luigi at any time- no need to beat the game first!

Get Your Game On with These Insider Tricks! Infinite 1Ups- Infinite 1Ups can be yours in World1-4! Just go to the pipe at the end of the level and kick a koopa shell so that it bounces back and forth between the pipe and the wall. Jump up each time the shell comes past and it will kill all enemies, giving you 1Ups galore!

Free Mushroom Houses- Free Mushroom Houses are yours, as long as you know the secret. Whenever you get to the end of a level, instead of jumping immediately onto the flagpole , do this: Wait until the clock goes up so that you hit the flagpole right when the last two digits of the timer are the same (for example, 144.233.311, etc.). This will unlock a new mushroom house on the World Map.\

Trouble with the Boss? If you're having a hard time defeating Bowser or one of the other bosses, bring a Mega Mushroom to the battle. Come into the stage with the Mega Mushroom ready and activate it when you are fighting the boss. You'll be able to stomp him out with no trouble at all. Remember, you can always find a Mega Mushroom by going back to World 1.

Need Power? When you need more power-ups in a hurry, just go to World 1 and play any of the stages with the red-winged question mark blocks.

Save Your Game! Up above World 1-1, there is a special house where you can change your background whenever you like, as long as you have at least 20 star coins. Whenever you change backrounds, you can save your game, which can come very handy.

Blast Off with Warp Zone Cannons- Warp zone cannons are an awesome way to take a flying shortcut from one world to another. Just find the cannon, climb in, and off you go, into the wild blue yonder! World 5 Warp: The cannon is just outside of the secret exit from the World 1 tower. World 6 Warp: This cannon is just past the secret exit from the World 3 Ghost House. World 7 Warp: You'll find another cannon right after the secret exit from the World 4 Ghost House. World 8 Warp: There's one more cannon outside of the secret exit from the World 5 Ghost House.

Cooking Mama Tips:

Just As Skilled As Mama! The best way to improve your cooking skills is to practice, practice, practice! Some cooking skills are trickier than others, though, so try these tips and you'll be as skilled as Mama in no time!

Be a Cutup! Cutting can be tough to master, but if you remember to keep your strokes short and lift the stylus up off the screen with each cut, you'll find it much easier.

Hot Tip Alert: Try to keep your movements within the blue handle on the knife as a guide. Practice in the skills section until you get it right.

Boil, Stew, and Fry! Oh My! Several cooking skills work the same way, whether you're stewing, pan frying, making stock, or boiling. A bar that runs along the top screen shows you when to add ingredients, blow, stir, or change the temperature on the stove. As each cooking skill passes the green arrow, you must be performing the required action.

Hot Tip Alert: If you have to blow, try blowing into the mic on your DS just before the bar reaches the green arrow.

Timing Tip: Keep your eye on the bar, and try to stay in sync with the tasks at hand. To score a Very Good rating on the Instant Ramen recipe, make sure you fill the cup up to the fifth marker, but be careful not ti fill any further or you'll spill and fail. Tap the red button to start filling, tap again to stop.

Do You Know the Way to Sauté? Many recipes in Cooking Mama require sautéing. It is important to sauté your ingredients in the right order if you want to earn a Gold Medal.

Keys to an Expert Sauté: * Add your items to the pan in the same order they appear on the top screen. * Never stop stirring the food in the frying pan, and make sure that it stays well spread out. If your food starts smoking, you're not stirring enough! * Watch the food icons on the top screen. When two red circles appear over an item, it means that it is finished cooking. When all of the food icons have circles over them, tap the Finish button as quickly as you can.

Deep Fried Fun! You can take your time with deep frying because the timer won't be running. Deep frying is an important step in many recipes, so you'll want to learn how to do it right. If at first you don't succeed, fry, fry, again.

Deep Frying Tip: * Fry on thing at a time. You'll be tempted to throw everything in the pot, all at once, but that is a recipe for disaster! The best way to get a good score is to fry each item until it is golden brown and floating on top of the oil. * Take the finished item out of the fryer and move it to the platter. Now you can drop the next piece of food into the pot. Remember, you don't have to race through this step. Take your time and get it right!

Unlock More Recipes! Cooking Mama has 76 recipes, and there are two ways to unlock them. One way of unlocking recipes is to Change Recipes when you are already cooking. Changing recipes is a great way to expand your menu and build on your cooking skills!

Hot Tip Alert: Sometimes Cooking Mama will ask if you'd like to change to a recipe that shares the same first steps with the one you're already making. If you tap on the new recipe, you'll unlock it in the Menu and have a chance to make it right away. For example, if you're making chicken in tomato sauce, you can change to chicken in cream sauce. Or if you're cooking pork cutlets, Mama might ask you if you'd like the deep fried pork kebabs.
